New Works by Jesse Reno
August 14-September 6, 2015
About the Artist / Artist Statement
Jesse Reno's intuitive style and heavily layered and textured compositions have been exhibited around the world and featured in numerous art publications including Juxtapoz, Artnews and Artension. His latest works deal with the idea of fragments and connection, feeling rather than knowing, choosing instinct over logic and the idea of buoyancy over balance. Jesse’s work invites you to examine the world and see that all things are connected.
This is Jesse Reno's second exhibit at Rotofugi Gallery.
"why is it colder at the top of the mountain if its closer to the sun? stop, don't answer. it is where the clouds breathe. you stole the moon with a spaceship. I will return it with a stone and a wish. say what you want but the sun is still in charge. science ruined the world. the only cure is magic…I am here now. pine cones tied to sticks and stick people are enough to tell this story. I own this all but you can have it. do not try to steal it. there is a curse waiting to swallow your heart. presidents, coins, a life, slaves who climb. my ladder moves forward. finger prints, tree rings, sea shells, and a heart of gold. do not unearth the terror chest. a liars myth. the hole can not be filled. who put the salt in the ocean. stop. it is not for drinking. the whales all walking. I will keep the wishes safe in chaos where anything is possible. while the devil searches for a short cut. who cares about their soul anyway? no one knows what they like or even cares. follow swallowing turning away. tell me the answer. stop. don't ask . I can not tell you. I can only point. wish choose become yourself."
