About the Artists
Kansas-City based husband and wife team Donald (aka Scribe) and Alisa Ross live and work in Kansas City, Missouri.
An accomplished muralist, Scribe is well-known for his large scale works throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. He works as an Art Director for Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City where he has completed diverse projects including airbrushing the hospital's Lifeflight helicopter with his artwork. He has published a children's book, "There's an Octupus Under My Bed," and has a series of designer toy mini figures, The Resound Field Guide, produced by Cardboard Spaceship. He has exhibited in galleries throughout North America and frequently does readings and workshops with children to discuss the process of his illustrations, murals and story methods while also doing live painting demonstrations.
A 1997 graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute with a BFA in Fiber Design, Alisa Ross creates custom plush/fiber sculpture for gallery exhibits throughout the United States. Her complex and sometimes life-size or larger creations, produced for her own "40 Threads" brand, are sought after by a growing fan base of collectors, both adults and children. She has exhibited in Kansas City, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and more and her creations were featured on HGTV's "Showdown." She frequently collaborates with her husband, combining their skills to further a common and ongoing story line.
