About the Artists
Mac Blackout (born Mark Dunihue McKenzie on June 17, 1977) is an American visual artist and musician from Chicago, Illinois. The founding member of The Functional Blackouts, Daily Void, Mickey, New Rose Alliance and MBB (Mac Blackout Band), he's also known as a prolific solo recording artist. His projects have been released by Sacred Bones, HoZac, FDH, Pelican Pow Wow and many other prominent independent record labels. These genre defying recordings range from lo fi noise punk to catchy glam rockers.
Mac was born in Bedford, Indiana, later attending college at the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana where he graduated with a BFA in 1999. During his high school and college years he became a well known graffiti artist in the midwest underground. In 1999 he moved to Chicago, Illinois channeling his creative energies into music and the music related art of posters and album covers. From 2000 to present day he has formed several bands releasing more than 10 full length albums as well as a slew of singles in which he has designed many of the covers. He continues to create music in solo and various group multi media recording projects. Mac is currently a freelance illustrator, muralist, and fine artist creating album covers, posters, drawings, prints, paintings, murals, and mixed media sculptures.
Mosher is a Chicago based street artist/muralist responsible for numerous murals around the city including locations such as Soho House, Big & Littles, Doejo, Intelligencia, Threadless, and the Mega Mall. His trademark monkey character and vivid, comic book like painting style have become an iconic part of the burgeoning Chicago mural scene. His work can be found in numerous cities including New York, Colorado, St. Louis, Miami and St. Petersburg.
Daniel Wilson is a fine artist and photographer from Cambridge, UK currently living and working in Chicago. Wilson’s multimedia approach includes a diverse mix of acrylic, pen, pencil, spray paint, vintage images and the artist’s own photography.
His layered pieces aim to expose the hidden fabric behind the reality of the human condition, exploring the interrelational web of thoughts, feelings, atoms and energy waves that create our universe. His artwork often centers around the representation of human emotions, emphasizing the shared aspects of humanity that outweigh what divides us.
Attracted to street art’s democratic nature, Wilson crafts artwork specifically for the urban environment and has executed several popular murals, including recent commissions for the Violet Hour and the Chicago B_Line.
