About the Artist
Nellie Le is an artist & illustrator living in Los Angeles, forever a dreamer and idealist.
Born in 1986 and raised in the suburbs to the east of Los Angeles, Nellie grew up watching mid-century Disney shorts, which has a huge influence on her work today. Most of her work is painted using gouache and acrylic gouache, utilizing a color palette that is influenced by the colors from her childhood.
Nellie received a BFA in Graphic Design with Honors from California State University, Long Beach and in her early 20s worked at a little art gallery in Alhambra, CA. She has since given up a life of pixel pushing to paint a bunch of animals and food.
Nellie has worked under two more of our favorite artists, Amanda Visell and Michelle Valigura, and in fact it was at a party at their home where we first met Nellie a few years ago.
